Friction Welding Cell with Artificial Vision

June 2026 Project DIB4T

DIB4T developed and manufactured in-house a robotic friction welding cell guided by machine vision for the plastics industry. The equipment integrates a KUKA manipulator with a 3D camera system that guides the welding process in real time, ensuring dimensional accuracy and repeatability in series production.

The solution includes automated part feeding, vision-assisted positioning and integrated process control, eliminating human variability and reducing the rejection rate. The entire project was developed and produced at DIB4T’s facilities in Marinha Grande, with full quality control at every stage.
